America's Next Top Model S11E01E02 -- Dangerously Fierce!

Dangerous. Controversial. Fierce.

PART 1 -- first hour

Cycle 11 was officialy started last Wednesday (a 2-hour premiere) and it was a blast! The competition is in L.A. again, where Tyra started. About 30 something girls were chosen as semi-finalists and were brought into this some futuristic sort of lab welcomed by Alpha Jay and Beta Jay (wearing awful wigs...just an opinion). In a weird but very fascinating way, the girls were "scanned" and photographed for identification purposes. During the whole process of choosing on which of these girls will move on to the next round, a wide range of various personalities emerged. Different ethnicities, colors, etc. Not much of plus size girls (only one got through) but a new category of contestant(s) came and sure did make a big buzz among the girls. A transgender.

Remember those "girls" from cycle 10 that served as back up models on the first photo shoot of the season? One of 'em auditioned and made it in the line up. That fierce, fierce girl which Tyra personally commended for a job well done on that shoot, was born male. Yep folks, a he-she. When the other girls found out about it, Isis (the transgender) was bombarded with questions. Some of 'em were just curious, some of 'em just began the bitching. What do you expect, right?

So, as what I said, it was a great variety of girls this season. We got French, Japanese/Korean/and a splatter of black gene girl, bunch of black girls, and white of course, Native American Indian/African, a self confessed bi-girl, etc. We also got three Brittanys (two of 'em changed their names as Sharaun and McKey). There also was this Alaskan girl that says they don't have almost everything back in Alaska and got chased by a moose...poor girl. By far, my early faves are Marjorie (the French girl), Elina (the girl dating tomboy), and Isis. Girls that I'm not so happy about are Clark (pretty...boring but bitchy) and Nikeysha (Scandaliehsa clone, remember?). 14 girls were chosen and made it to the house.

---

Part II -- second hour

The girls were taken to their new fab home full of Tyra pics (I say a bit too much). They are in the getting to know each other still and stories were exchanged. I have to say that Isis' story stood out for me. Being the center of discussions around the house is not a comfortable spot to be in. Then the judges were introduced to the girls with some sort of a magic show: Mr. and Ms. Jay in their normal hair-do, the sexy Nigel Barker, and the ever so gorgeous Polina Porizkova. Each girl had the chance to do a one-on-one with each of the judges. Sharaun is simply the 18-year-old girl that she is introducing herself as the ANTM winner to everyone. Annoying, really... Then Marjorie is supppahhhh adorable! Though she's one big ball of nerves, I still think her looks screams MODEL!!!! So this week's shoot was all about making a statement on voting. <> Then came their first elimination round. Handfull of good comments and handfull of not so good ones. I thought I know who were the girls to grace the bottom two spot but nope... Two of my bets did an amazing job on the shoot with Marjorie being this week's best. Bottom two...Sharaun and Nikeyshia. I was intrigued with the judges' line regarding Nikeyshia... Nigel was about to comment bout her then Tyra cut him, same thing with Polina. I thought that it was the Seleisha-trauma of Tyra...if you know what I mean. But I figured it out that it's not..hehe! Miss self proclaimed ANTM winner said bye bye for it's her time to go...Buh bye then Sharaun.

Project Runway Pinas S01E06 -- from bottom to the top

Homos, I don't mean any other tops or bottoms ok...Just saying...hehe!

...

Damn it! I got home a bit late from school so I didn't get to watch the start of the show tonight. Anyways... This week's challenge was to do a modernized wedding gown out of the old ones. It was a good week for the designers for most of 'em got the applause and congratulations from the judges. From the one who struggled a lot to the one who gave less effort yet won the challenge.

For the first time, I saw a less confident Aries on the show (still so annoying though) and he worried for his standing in the competition. Should have been happier if he got eliminated. And so the tiyanak survived yet another week. From sinking down at the bottom two last week, Eli surfaced to the top with his winning "Labandera" wedding gown which was well responded by the judges. Way less effort yet the thought and concept of his work just made it's way to the top. Bo Parcon got eliminated this week...

The moose chase and Tyra...

A video from YouTube featuring some sneak peek on ANTM 11 which will start tomorrow. The trio (Tyra and Mr. and Ms. Jay) seemed to be enjoying their new "hair-do". Tyra had her hair shorter, Ms. Jay had a silvery white wig and Mr. Jay...same color just a bit longer. Kindda Nick Carter back in the 90's hair but Jay's signiture silvery blonde.

One thing never changed...Tyra is damn crazy... She just lost it...

Watch OUT for my Portfolio!!!

Nope it is not a modeling portfolio (how I wish). Nope it is not a photography portfolio, nor is it a building design portfolio (asa...and as if). My friends Angie and Nina did the honors for giving me my first ad for my Coin Purse Monsters project/business. I'll post here some pics when I'm done with at least five of 'em. PEOPLE I need your support! haha! I also do some key chains and burloloys that I could think of...

No particular design here folks! My creations came organically without specific inspirations but over all I dare say they're CUTE...as in kuh-yut-umz! Artsy people are probably the ones who can appreciate 'em but they're open for everyone to adopt! hehe!

This guys were already posted but I'll repost 'em anyways... Owned by Angie and Nina...

Robert Pattinson...from Diggory to a Vampire

Yep, I feel kindda dumb right now for thinking it's a different guy. I was like "OMG this guy looks like Cedric Diggory". Guess what my dumb-ass-self, it is him. Inaway talaga ang sarile eh noh?!

His name is Robert Pattinson, an English actor, musician, and surprise he's a model. DUH?! By far, HP4 pretty much was the one to put him on the map and recognized internationally. Then came this movie, Twilight. I've already heared a lot of buzz about this movie (to be released on cinemas nationwide by November 20th) and the book too. I guess Harry and Cedric really have rivalry outside of the book. Daniel had the title role of Harry then Robert for Twilight. Hehe!

Does anybody remember this song -- Chika Lang

I think this was a novelty song back in the late 90's and Thalia had a version of it. I honestly cannot remember that much of her recorded Tagalog songs except maybe one or two of 'em. Nandito Ako was of course remarkable and the other one was the Tagalog version of Maria la del Barrio (Mariang Taga Barrio). I wonder if anyone could recall this one... Chika Lang!

Excuse the terrible video. I didn't make this one...

Nandito Ako...by Thalia

I was in grade school when Mexican telenovelas suddenly became popular. I guess we, Filipinos, are so in love with Cinderella stories that's why Marimar was such a hit back then. And speaking of Marimar, it won't be such a success if not because of Thalia's amazing performance. She once visited the Philippines to meet her fans, and as a treat, she recorded a tagalog song originally sung by none the less, singer song writer Ogie Alcasid...Nandito Ako.

BTW, I was and still a huge fan of hers and of her performances...

ANTM 11 Preview!!!

Getting tired...a bit. Gonna watch it...hell yeah! For some reason, this show still keep on pulling me to watch it and it's working apparently. That Elina girl, GORGEOUS!

E-Heads concert Cut Short

According to the news (just got in) on GMA, Ely Buendia was rushed to the hospital, if I heared it right, because of heart related problem just like before. Just like to share the news with you guys... Let's pray for him people...

Good Times with Mo VS. The Chico and Delamar Show

This may not be an original topic but hey, better late than never.

TingTingTingTing! Let's get ready to rumble!!!!!!!!!

It all began with a simple radio commercial that Mo and Andi9 did that apparently, this commercial was aired on Chico and Delamar's show. The latter duo or perhaps a listener was upset of what happened which in my opinion is senseless. I would have to agree with Mo when he said that why be upset or get offended by it when on TV (where network rivalry is pretty much more "deeper") stars from Kapuso and Kapamilya networks can be seen through commercials in their rival homes. In fact they even team up together sometimes (have you seen the Piolo-Dingdong Ponds commercial?).

So Mo in his "defense", took time to make his reaction on this matter and "researched" on the net and found an "old radio commercial" that was allegedly done by Chico himself. It was an audio commercial but someone did a "video" of it and posted it on YouTube. Just watch...Vaclair Airlines!!!

Mistah Mohan Gumatay sure do know how to play the game... That makes me love their show even more! HAHA! Good Times Rulezzzz!!!!

Daddy Banana's back home!

I do love my meat but somehow I love my veggies too! And The Sproutwells reminds me just so. My favorite Sproutwell family member would have to be...the Daddy Banana! And their new pet too. Bananas are my everyday simple dessert and a healthy food as well. I visited the www.freshfunds.com and found out that they offer Chiquita Fruit and Veggie Bites, Fresh Express Gourmet Café Salads, and Fresh Express Packaged Salads. Sounds tasty and totally fresh huh?! If I am to bid on a prize at www.FreshFunds.com, I would definitely bid on the Chiquita Fruit and Veggie Bites. They can make wonderful snacks.

Why not share this video to your friends. They might be interested to keep on a healthy lifestyle!

Project Runway S05E07 -- The Hunk Who Cried

This week's challenge was slightly similar from the first one but with a totally unexpected source of materials. CAR PARTS! I thought that they would go and destroy those cars by Saturn and I was like...are they spending that much just for a challenge? Well, there's no way that's gonna happen and the materials were inside the car..whew!
Leanne...winner!
Korto
Jerell

It was pretty exciting to see the out comse especially because none of 'em ever experienced doing something like that. I remember Leanne said that she has no idea or whatsoever on what to do with all those junk. Turned out that the designers surprised themselves on how those stuff would look like made in to clothes. Korto and Jerell did an amazing job that was well responded by the judges but Leanne for me was such a revelation. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Super well made and impressive silhouette. Even Miss Rachelle Zoe was blown away by it. BTW, this girl reminds me of Marie Genevieve of PRCanada...
Leanne
Marie Genevieve

Keith was one of my early bets to win this season (for a non-skill related reason to be honest...hehe) and everytime he lands on the edge of being eliminated I'm pissed. Now I'm pissed not because he got eliminated, but because of his attitude all through out the challenge. Being at the bottom two last week made him so depressed and grumpy, and masungit na rin with his competitors. Didn't do him any good at all. But I was extremely touched when he started to cry after saying goodbyes with the other designers. It's not everyday you see a big fella crying on TV right? I believe that he has this huge passion for fashion but perhaps this competition just ain't the right venue for him...

do a RAGE Journal!!!

When you're mad at someone and for some reason you can't confront the person face to face, you might want to throw him/her something like this...

By the way, this is Joseph Keane, a great, great actor...

embracing the queer that I am...

Queer As Folk...I dare say the best TV series I've ever seen and perhaps closest to my heart. American series like Sex In the City, Dawson's Creek, Gossip Girl, and others alike may come and go. Great as they maybe but still, my number one would only be Queer as Folk...

Queer meaning going the odd way from the usual or normal stuff... Different, yet normal and practically still the usual. Your normal "straight" folks in your neiborhood and in the society, is just like the queers and vice versa.

An eye opener, an activist, fun, hardcore, lovable, provocative, and most definitely, non-apologetic. That's how I define this show. More than just entertaining and touching, it triggered some very serious social issues involving homophobic hate crimes and health related issues. It's sensitive enough to touch every single thing about these gender related issues. From the stereotypes to the misconceptions; from the prejudiced to the well reserved; from the LOVE non-believer to the long term relationships; from holding back to coming OUT... There's just so much similarities, it's just that we only see the differences.

I just can't express enough how much I adore Queer as Folk. I watched all 5 seasons and I've learned so much from it. Trust me, this one was made not only for the queens and fags as you call 'em. First and foremost, as I've said, it's an eye opener for all to see.
