Does anybody remember this song -- Chika Lang

I think this was a novelty song back in the late 90's and Thalia had a version of it. I honestly cannot remember that much of her recorded Tagalog songs except maybe one or two of 'em. Nandito Ako was of course remarkable and the other one was the Tagalog version of Maria la del Barrio (Mariang Taga Barrio). I wonder if anyone could recall this one... Chika Lang!

I was in grade school when Mexican telenovelas suddenly became popular. I guess we, Filipinos, are so in love with Cinderella stories that's why Marimar was such a hit back then. And speaking of Marimar, it won't be such a success if not because of Thalia's amazing performance. She once visited the Philippines to meet her fans, and as a treat, she recorded a tagalog song originally sung by none the less, singer song writer Ogie Alcasid...Nandito Ako.



BTW, I was and still a huge fan of hers and of her performances...

Dingdong's Biggest Compliment yet...

The Marian-Dingdong team up is undeniably a "monster love team" in terms of popularity and followings. It was also said by some that the latter just had a ride on the former's skyrocketed career. I say...OH NO YOU DIDN'T! Yes, the Marimar project did some good with the both of 'em. In fact, Marian got tons of endorsements and shows after and Dingdong also had his share of endorsements (one of the most publicized would have to be the Bench ad) and follow up shows.

Marian is the reigning FHM sexiest woman of the world even without having any sort of pictorial with the said magazine publication. I don't want to say that it was not that great but I think Dingdong brought it a notch higher than that level. No, he's not named the sexiest male celeb in another mag. Guess who discovered him and would want to have him on their list as one of the 25 sexiest men of the world. E! ENTERTAINMENT!!!

Ka level lang naman nina David Beckham eh... I mean, anu yun? Wala lang naman yun ah! HEHEHEHE!!! Beat that *bleep-bleep*!!! If you can produce one to be on that list in the future, I'll salute you for that. Dita Von Teese...hired by Belo for $200K?

I was watching this news show on Studio23 before the Good Times which was on 11 pm (Yes loyal, pachiz burger ka naman...este ako pala...hekhek!). I was surfing the net while the news anchor said something about Belo and Von Teese so I instantly got myself to face the TV. I like the miss fab Dita. She's friends with Sutan (that Asian make-up artist in ANTM). At first, I thought what I heared was something like Viki Belo would do a Dita Von Teese dance video or what. Apparently and definitely I'm wrong bout that. It was said in the news that Dita performed at the 18th Anniversary celebration of Belo's company. The issue was that Belo paid the Burlesque Queen Extraordinaire some eye popping amount of money which she denied.
Geez...Lucky guys who were there enjoyed he flawlessness...



Damn gorgeous on the outside, crazy ass lady in the inside. I mean, who's in her right mind to marry someone that looks like Marilyn Manson unless maybe because of the bling and the caching-ching. That's why I love her.

By the way, I don't think that TJ Manotoc is that good of a reporter, much more of a 'news anchor'. Just ain't good... Better as a Sport commentator or something.

Just Ain't an Olympic Follower PART II

That's why I only heared about the Chinese girl who lip synced the Olympics theme song on the news (not on CNN though). What kind of mentality do these organizers or whoever people involved with it have? Obviously it's a cute girl versus ugly girl world now and that ain't pretty at all. I mean, looking at both of their pictures, the original one was not ugly at all. Maybe not as cute as the fake one but hey!

This is not freakin "Butuing Walang Ningning" movie, this is something real yet fake (I can picture this kids on my head about 10 years in the future saying someting like "You're nothing but a second grade, trying hard, lip sync-ing spot light stealer! HARHARHAR!) They call it flawless? There you go morons! Flawless no more! I mean how dare they not to put the actual girl who sang the whole thing despite of her appearance. Maybe if they did it the other way around, perhaps there would be a way lot more that could have been inspired. The hell do they care about the girl's crooked teeth? Mind your own PUSTISOW! Shame on you!





By the way, nice fireworks. I didn't know hallucinations can get this realistic. Good job on being fake, I mean really, you're the best.

Our local telenovelas, telefantasyas, etc., won't be as great as they are with out the kontrabidas. What is a bida's worth if there won't be villains to darken their days. Here are some of the Philippines' finest on what they do best...playing the MEAN girls.

Who would forget this line: "You're nothing, but a second grade, trying hard, copy cat!" Imortalized by no other than Ms. Cherie Gil. She's simply the classic glamour girl who's presence is simply intimidating.

Gladys Reyes will always be associated with her then role Clara in the soap Mara Clara. She really knows how to play maldita towards the role of Ms. Judy Ann Santos, Mara.

Ms. Jean Garcia. I thought that it was impossible to see her in a non-kontrabida role. Damn was she great as Madam Claudia in Pangako Sa 'Yo. Now, she plays the former queen of Sirenea and the mother of Dyesebel (played by Marian Rivera) in Dyesebel. Major flip of character may I add.

Jean is now on the 'good side' while Mylene dizon took her place. Her role in Dyesebel as Dyangga is certainly one of the biggest in the said telefantasya. Playing as the evil queen is perhaps one of her expertise.

A true blue kontrabida should know how to be sadista, and Ms. Pinky Amador showed she can. Magdusa Ka definitely showed her bad side opposite Dina Bonnevie. Give her a whip and she'll surely work it.

Last but not the least, the queen of 'em all... The original and legendary Ms. Celia Rodriguez. You can feel her intimidating energy just through her stare. I remember seeing her once in Trinoma. She have her personal assistant with her looking glamourous and fierce. She's the epitome of a true kontrabida for me.
