Project Runway S05E07 -- The Hunk Who Cried

This week's challenge was slightly similar from the first one but with a totally unexpected source of materials. CAR PARTS! I thought that they would go and destroy those cars by Saturn and I was like...are they spending that much just for a challenge? Well, there's no way that's gonna happen and the materials were inside the car..whew!
Leanne...winner!
Korto
Jerell

It was pretty exciting to see the out comse especially because none of 'em ever experienced doing something like that. I remember Leanne said that she has no idea or whatsoever on what to do with all those junk. Turned out that the designers surprised themselves on how those stuff would look like made in to clothes. Korto and Jerell did an amazing job that was well responded by the judges but Leanne for me was such a revelation. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Super well made and impressive silhouette. Even Miss Rachelle Zoe was blown away by it. BTW, this girl reminds me of Marie Genevieve of PRCanada...
Leanne
Marie Genevieve

Keith was one of my early bets to win this season (for a non-skill related reason to be honest...hehe) and everytime he lands on the edge of being eliminated I'm pissed. Now I'm pissed not because he got eliminated, but because of his attitude all through out the challenge. Being at the bottom two last week made him so depressed and grumpy, and masungit na rin with his competitors. Didn't do him any good at all. But I was extremely touched when he started to cry after saying goodbyes with the other designers. It's not everyday you see a big fella crying on TV right? I believe that he has this huge passion for fashion but perhaps this competition just ain't the right venue for him...

Project Runway Pinas S01E05 -- Open Your Eyes!!!

Tonight's challenge is a classic in the American counterpart of the show. Take pictures around Cubao Expo to take some inspiration for the designers' work. Time Square sure is fancy but hey, you can't deny the rich culture and stuff we have here in our own back yard...

OMG! I'm just so f*ckin annoyed with Aries!!! I'm sure the guy he flirted with in the fabric shop threw up right then and there. One thing about this squealing pig (ooops...too mean) is that he's trying to speak in English with "slang" and I was like...are F*ckin kidding me? Tagalog pa nga lang di na maideretso english pa kaya.

Not much drama this week except for Bo who misses the outside world. After watching tons and tons of reality shows alike, more or less I know what he feels like. Rajo and the judges were really tough this time around but very understandable. Long speeches from the judges and even the guests were highly opinionated. While watching the main elimination part, I just stopped guessing who'll be out because everyone had their share of criticisms, maybe except for Jaz...

Obviously, Jaz was named the winner and Philip came in second. Bo bursted into tears after knowing he's safe. Lucky guy Mr. Eli Gonzalez. He still made it at least a week further. Winnie got eliminated...

Galing nito... fan made daw pero eto mismo yung ginagamit sa show...

Project Runway S05E06...the guy who made a Pteroductyl out of Gay Jurassic Park

This have to be the craziest, wildest, gay-est challenge that a gay Project Runway contestant would die to do. Seriously, it was a roller coaster thing.

The clients were drag queens and to make a new look for them is this week's challenge. To help introduce the girls to the designers, Chris March of season 4 was there dressed in a costume that he probably made. He looks better in drag (just an opinion). As it should be, it's all about the show dahling...

The guys in drag were very random in the sense that they could be an easy client or a bitchy one. The girl named Sweetie ain't sweet at all and that Lettuce girl was a bit too bitter. I was actually surprised how different they look like out of those costumes, thick make-up and gi-normous wigs... Well, you can't expect much on the fat ones but the big and tall ones, oh boy, oh boy are they hot! Body better than some gym buffs out there. Blayne's the one who made the Pteroductyl dress outta Gay Jurassic park as what Tim described it because of the 'wings' criss-crossing at the back. And for the first time, I felt sorry for Suede because of the remarks his client given him (that he's lazy and stuff)...

If some of this designers enjoyed themselves with the challenge, much more were the judges. RuPaul was this week's guest judge, drag queen extraordinaire. Terri's, Korto's and Joe's were the judges faves but Joe's work stood out (I have to admit, he did a good job) and named the winner of the challenge. It's Daniel's turn to go home after making a bad impression to the judges of being unattentive and doing a dress that's just not drag-aliscious at all... I wonder if he and Wesley were back together now...

By far, Korto and Terri were the consistent judges' faves. I'll bet that one of these two girls could possibly be the winner this season...

Blayne...
Korto...
Suede...
Terri...
Joe...went sailor and won the challenge

Project Runway Pinas S01E04

Drama, drama, and more drama. Is that too much telenovelas we're watching? Nope, just PRPhil. I was just a bit sleepy already by the time the show started and by the time I realized that it's on, Veejay and Eli were already in the middle of a word war. Basically it was about each other's work "copied" or whatever. Only thing that I remember was the line by Eli that goes something like "You look like a worker here" or something and Veejay was like "You're just insecure of me".

And so PRPhil did something a bit different from the usual model selection. In a "pool party". I'll be expecting for more of these as the show progress and the more they do it, the more I'll love 'em. Tatak Pinoy ata yun ah?! Challenge was to make a beachwear that could go from day to night. By the way, I still am having some difficulties connecting that makulit but charming face of Eli with his awesome, muy caliente physique (hey Eli if you'll ever get across with this post...hehe...the compliments are from me!).

Then there goes the drama again, though less intense. For a second I thought I was watching a highschool guidance counceling session when Jojie talked to Eli and Veejay about the previous challenge issue. O sya, sya tama na yan. The runway show finally arrived and all I can see was Apple's face making the least reactions as if she's wearing a hard mask all the way through the show. Everytime the camera catches a glimpse of her, there's just one look. I guess Ivan broke that 'barrier' and finally made her smile. Theresa's looking better and better for me.

After all the discussions and deliberations. Decision made and Aries named the winner of the challenge (YUCK!) and Miss Charette Regalla of Pasig City was eliminated... Celebrate now and do your yuppiedoodles while you can. I'm pretty sure you won't get the ulitmate prize anyway... Bwahahaha!

Project Runway S05E05

Even if team Philippines have the medals slipping through their fingers in the Olympics at least we have a fight on Project Runway. Boy are we talented...

Surprising enough that PR Philippines and PR in America almost have the same challenge and they both worked in pairs this week. Challenge is to make an outfit for the character of Miss Brooke Shields in Lipstick Jungle. I thought Jerell and Stella's team would win this because of the very cohesive work they did but never the less I'm glad on who won. Keith Bryce. I'm not crazy about his choice of partner. Yeah she's good enough but the way she acted towards Daniel's words in the panel...geeez. I believe based on what I saw, every team have had some issues towards the partners concept because basically their way too different from each other as designers. Well maybe except for Jerell and Stella. Terri and Suede got some problem with the shirt construction; Daniel and Kelli had an issue with the skirt; Keith and Kenley had some issues with the choice of fabric; then the bitch came out of Korto when Joe almost dropped her like that in front of Tim. With all this said and done I still think that most of them did pretty well on the challenge. With Blayne and Leanne's, right from the meeting with Brooke there's got to be something that would go wrong with the design and that's just what happened. Blayne almost got eliminated because of not listening at what Brooke's concerns about hid design.
And so it was Kelli who got the boot because the judges thought, and Brooke thought, and even I thought that taste level was not there at all. I guess leopard just ain't lucky...
Jerrel and Stella
Terri and Suede
Keith and Kenley * Winner

Project Runway Pinas -- Friendster/Multiply Invasion

HAR HAR HAR! This is somewhat an invasion of private life but hey, they won't put these pics if they're not for public viewing right? Let's meet the designers (I mean some). Don't bother looking for Aries' pics here because I'm still in the right mind not to put something to be used to scare some rats.

In random order:

a bit disturbed by this

would you look at those bulgin muscles...

OMG! The rat just slipped in! SPOT the NOT!

Project Runway Pinas S01E03

I wasn't excited when the show started tonight just because I didn't pay that much attention on last week's sneak preview of tonight's episode. So anyway, I'm feeling a bit sleepy a bit earlier but the whole mood started to change when Sarah Meier popped out of the door. I mean COME ON NOW! Gorgeous girl! I remember her VJ days on MTV. No wonder she's a fave girl VJ back then unlike that absurd, alienesque MYX VJ Sanya, calling herself a model and a "witty" girl. F*ck off!

Fusion of music and glamour -- that's Sarah. Tonight's challenge is to make something that inspires that style of her. My deepest concerns are for Winnie this week only because she's partnered (by the way, they worked on pairs with this one) with the "Tiyanak" as what Eli labeled Aries. Eli, Eli, Eli, my thoughts just go in perfect harmony with yours. I think Winnie got a bit intimidated by Aries not because of his acomplishments but Aries' DIVA attitude. Anyways, I have to applaud Veejay for his speech on how he don't want to back stab anyone just to "play the game". And so he melted down when he sensed the potential feud between him and Mara.
This week, Mara surprised me. Though given a partner, their creation was very her and very well made.

Impressive as her (Mara's) work turned out, she didn't outDESIGNED AVA who was named the winner. Sarah really loved their work so much that she gave four words -- "Can I Keep It?" From a not so well responded job last week to this amazingly done tailored garment...amazing.

So, so, so, the spoilers were proven to be wrong, Lord was out. I thought for a second, hey Aries's gonna go because of chosing Winnie as his escape goat. SO not good.
AVA -- WINNER
LORD -- OUT
Next week's episode seems intriguing to me. I think there would be some cat fight of some sort between those guys Jojie mentioned that he have to talk to...Hmmm...Curious!

Project Runway S05E04

The most anticipated sporting event of the year, the Beijing Olympics 2008, finally starts today. Everytime I watch the Olympics or the SEA Games on tv, I always see to it that I won't miss the opening walk of the athletes of different participating countries...

This week's challenge is to make some sort of a uniform for the US athletes on their welcome walk. Some of the designers got a bit confused and didn't quite grasp the idea. As much as the judges liked what that bearded guy did, I just don't like him. HAH! Good thing he didn't win. Korto's is nice but I don't see so much of USA on what she did but hey, she won. I could have picked Terri's as a winner. Daniel, Daniel, Daniel. This week should have been a double elimination round. Just not acceptable for me. But lucky him! I guess Wesley should be proud of him. Hmmm... more and more I'm getting a bit irritated with that Kenley girl. I'm guessing that would worsen by next week. LOVE, love Stella's. I totally get what she's going for and her creation is very her. "There's a lot of bikers in this country who watch the Olympics." -- Stella

The Fashion Assassin didn't make it this week. Her work just don't translate as something that would represent their country. Buh-bye Ms. Surrealism.

KORTO... winner

TERRI

JOE...blah...

STELLA

Project Runway Pinas S01E02

Aries was proven to be a bigger bitch than Naomi Campbell and Eli Gonzales would be his mother spanking him all day on the ass for being such a maldita. HE's bitchin and moaning over last week's eliminated contestant, Loida. If you're trying to be funny, let me tell you dear, you're f-ing annoying. Fix that terrible hair do will ya? Oh I like Eli so much! Unlike some of the gay contestants out there, he's not a pain in the eyes in terms of looks... Hate to say this but I'm not keen on liking his work. Thank goodness he didn't get eliminated yet. I'd like to hear all his commentaries over that pig-faced maldita.

Anyway, tonight's challenge is to design a clothing of their choice inspired by some of the legends of Philippine fashion scene. And so I was thrilled to see our version of MOOD which is the Metro at the Market Market. I was like, whoah, we got that? I mean a fabric store as big as that... Then they did their thing plus extra drama and comedy on the side. I saw some nice ones and some not so good. The usual. My impression about this challenge was that it wasn't really as adventurous as it is in America. It is expected for them to come up with beautiful pieces for their inspirations won't be called legends for nothing. Was there a twist? I dunno. And if there was, I haven't even noticed. I think with just a bit more tweaking on the format or perhaps adding in some unexpected twists, the show would do a great job.

Just an observation... I don't think that PNTM got as much fashion related commercial load than what PRP is enjoying now. Don't you think so?

Oh, I've almost forgot. Nice job VeeJay Floresca! Nice job!

SPOILER ALERT. As might have guessed already, they already have a winner before the show was first shown on air. I heared that it would be...a Cebuano. I dunno, this might not be true but I think it's not impossible.

ProjectRunwayS05E03

I'm gonna f*ckin snip you out of the competition if I only can! F*ck you Suede!
Ok...that was a good release...

I thought I'm going to have two in a row. Last week, Wesley was eliminated and I was hoping he'd be there long enough at least but no. This time, Keith was almost in the bottom two, glad it didn't happen. I got worried when the "toilet paper swept in a storm" garment mentioned by Michael Kors turned out to be his. Keith and Wesley were my early faves ok...This week the Pin-Up vintage looking girl won the challenge and I must say that it was a pretty good job. I thought that this (vision on what a night out in New York looks like) challenge had the potential of producing some very interesting and supposed to be extraordinarily fantastic garments which I didn't quite see on the runway. We got some broken down clock, bursting pieces of cloth on a black dress, again, toilet paper literally drowned, etc. Oh, by the way, good job for Leanne bouncing back from last week's bottom two. She impressed the judges on how quickly she learned how to edit her work. I guess the silent fashion assassin is going to be a killer designer. Another designer that I'm liking now is that biker chic. More and more I'm getting a "sweet p." kind of attitude and I love that. I love Sweet P...
I'm sorry Emily, that means you're out. Auf'd...

Kenley ... winner

Leanne

Project Runway Pinas...

As I was typing this post, I was watching Project Runway Philippines on TV. Too bad that I only got caught of the second half of the show, but it is good enough for me...

Oh gosh! I never expected it to be way too gay! I mean, I've seen enough of that in their American and Canadian part. No straight people here (except for the girls though). Anyway, I've seen some very interesting personalities aside from the judges. I love that Jigs Mayuga of L'oreal got this job. He's one of the hosts of then show OUT on GMA7. I bet he'll rock it. Also I'm glad to see Mr. Frederick Peralta as their first guest judge. The first time I've heared of him was in the Celebrity Duets, again from GMA7. Nice style!

So today's challenge is all about showcasing their identity as fashion designers. I don't know their names yet so I cannot really pin point whom I like and not. This early some of the fags are already bringing on their bitchin level way up high. Not to mention, the one who won the challenge annoyed almost everyone when he 'sang' (that sounded like a pig sqealing) a Tagalog song. Obviously enjoying himself, he just doesn't seem to care bout the others. I was a bit sad for the first eliminated contestant which was the mom aged 50 something. To compete with the younger ones can be more than a challenge for her because the level of her competitiveness I guess weren't there. As far as innovation and creativity are concerned NUH UH, just not there.

I think the rest of this will be fun! Wed. PRPhilippines . Thur. PR season 5 . Fri. another RAJO day . Sat. a fashion show day. Angie thnx for the invitation huh! Hehe! OH I just remembered, as I was in a hurry to go home after our PP3 class, there was an explosion on Espana right across UST though I don't think no one's got hurt. It made sudden commotion among students and passersby alike. I overheared that there were two men involved with it. Intriguing...just intriguing.

another ProjRunway5 post...

Well, I just knew that it already started (thnx again to angie) so this one is a bit of a late review. But hey, nothing's too late for something this good.

Contestants were introduced though the casting part was not showed. I see some interesting ones and some that right from the start you can tell that won't make it. Some good looking male designers (Keith Bryce and Wesley Nault), some got their own unique and bizzare styles ("Suede", Stella Zotis), people of color (Korto Momoru, Terri Stevens, Jerry Tam, and Blayne Walsh [sqeeze in his tan]), some season 4 counterparts (Jerell Scott the former model male version, Kelli Martin the younger version of Sweet P., and Daniel Feld who looks like Mario from season 1), and finally the mousey "silent assasins" (Leanne Marshall, Emily Brandale, Jennifer Diederich). Others that I didn't mention (one or two of 'em) are just a blah for me as of now. No faves yet but I do think that what Kelli did was really nice.

INNOVATION. That's the word for this week's challenge just like season 1's first challenge. Project Runway's definition of this word is to do something out of the ordinary and traditional. It means that they want to see some weird stuff put on those dresses that actually looks pretty, nice and wearable. Apparently, I think more than half of the designers primarily used table cloth which is not good for this challenge. Kelli won by using the vacum cleaner papers and some coffee paper filters. Austin Scarlet (which is by the way their guest judge because of winning this challenge 4 seasons back) was quite impressed with Kelli's techniques and details which was agreed by Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

for a second I thought this is Jaslene

All in all I think this season would be equally exciting as the past ones. Heidi is looking fierce as usual (as if she never given birth yet) and Tim is in his usual attire and looking fine. Hmmm...I just wish that Project Runway Philippines could do justice to the show (unlike that crappy PNTM...UGH!).
